Depends what you're putting it on. I had a sportman that was first used on a 30-06 then put on a 308. Held zero just fine. Good price on them as well.

Banner is a higher end model line and has better glass. Also the banner line has a slimmer eye piece and is sometimes easier to mount lower on the rifle. For the money I usually recommend banner. Phil.

As mentionedthe banner is a step up from the sportsman. The sportsman is a very hit and miss proposition with more misses than hits,if you got a good one congrats.

Could someone tell me, is the Bushnell Banner 2.5X scope made for high powered rifles or is it a line for .22's?

Shockproof? There are many guide guns with banner scopes that work flawlessly. One fellow has in the neighborhood of 15 scoped bigbores with the same banner scope on each.

I've got one on my 444 that I'm pleased with, although admittedly I've put less than 200 rounds through it since mounting the scope. I've also used a banner on a M305, which has a rep as being tough on scopes, without any problems.

Banner would be the way to go for sure, I don't consider the sportsman as being equal to it at all.
