difference between dpms and amalite barrel nuts?

probably a dumb question but what is the difference between the armalite and dpms pattern barrel nuts? im assuming just the tpi. i got and amazing deal on a slr handguard for my stag 10 because it was ordered wrong and had a armalite barrel nut but it threads perfectly onto my stag 10 which is dpms. did i just get super lucky and the box was wrongfully labeled armalite or are the threads just that close.

Different thread but pretty close. I had the opposite problem and dpms would not thread on to armalite.
 
Armalite AR-10 barrel nut threads are 1-7/16” and 18 TPI-3A
DPMS pattern barrel nut threads are 1-7/16” and 16 TPI- 2A

one should not fit the other.
 
Awesome thanks. That's what I found online but just wanted to make sure as I dont have another barrel nut for either platform to measure against.
 
Thanks I do have a set of tpg but just wanna make sure I'm not missing something else like seating depth.
