I was wondering what the differnece is between the Naval and the regular stock on an SVT-40? There is quite a price difference. P&S is selling the VG+ regular ones for $495 and the Naval ones for $625. Are the Naval stocks rarer? or are they made out of better wood? Anyway thanks for the help,

Take a closer look at the pics of the stock, the slings attach differently.

Maybe... but that and rarer markings don't really justify an extra $200 for the same rifle. I'll stick with the Army one when I buy an SVT.

Naval stock has a rear stock slot instead of a swivel. A "hybrid" sling using the loop buckle on the front and dog collar on the rear was issued for it.

Why the price difference? Who knows? They are all refurbed rifles with parts fitted off the pile. An original, all matched, unrefurbed SVT with such features could command a premium but having a naval stock on a refurb may be interesting but not premium bait IMHO.
