Difference between normal barrel and match barrel ?

I think it depends on the company. Some will say "match barrel" because it sounds good on a spec sheet. Others will actually select a barrel out of a batch looking for things like bore concentricity, and others will manufacture match barrels with high standards and tolerances.

The match barrel has tighter tolerances (as to dimensions) from end to end.
If I recall correctly, Shilen claims that thier "select" match barrels are within .0002" or less over the length of the bore.

The standard barrels have a larger varience/tolerance over thier length.

Really??? my Shilen has at least a .020 dogleg one of the worst my smith (2 of them) have seen. it shot unbelievably well for about 200 rds, I'll put it back on and use it for fire forming now that I mined all the copper out.

Liljas have been very good so far.

Good video but he did compare a ####ed up factory barrel to a good custom he also stayed in one spot on the custom barrel notice he did not move ahead so really we dont know what the rest looked like although I'm sure it should have been fine.

I noticed that as well - would have been a fairer comparison if he had moved the camera forward a ways. Also, wasn't the Lilja a 3-groove rifling with fairly wide lands/grooves? I'd think the imperfections would be a bit harder to notice vs the 5 or 6 groove on the remington. Not quite apples and oranges.
