You know, I've never known what the difference between the model 7 and model 700 is I've always just assumed the model 7 to be a carbine, what's the case? Thanks!
Interesting... Wonder why, for overall length? Guess this means a shorter mag box... Also won't work for what I had in mind then due to a shorter receiver, that is putting one in an AICS...
Model Seven has a shorter action and bolt length than a short action Model 700. Trims it up a bit and shaves some weight. Mag box is still 2.8" though.

I will add to this: The bolt is different in another way also, it does not have the anti bind slot cut into it like a M700, the shroud is also different, the action tang and screw spacing is also diff. It is closer to the Model 600/660 or new single shot than the M700, as a matter of fact they use the same 1 pc. scope base. They do make nice light guns but are limited to the 2.8" mag length.
