Im in the market to purchase a .223 Rem die set. I have a Lee Press, and Lee Deluxe Pistol 4-Die Sets, and Im very happy with them. I figured I might as well stick to Lee.

This will be my first rifle dies. My question is, what is the difference between:

LEE PACESETTER RIFLE DIES · Caliber - 223 Rem
Mfr. # 90502
LEE DELUXE RIFLE 3 DIE SET · Caliber - 223 Rem
Mfr. # 90604

Only difference I see is $7.00 in price.

The description is very simular for both sets. Both have 3 Dies, Shell Holder and Powder measure.

Thanks!

Matt

If you are reloading for a bolt gun, a neck-size die will come in far more handy than a crimp die. If you are reloading for a semi, the nod might go to the crimping.

pacesetter is a FL and seater die with no extras

The Lee collet delux die includes a collet neck die (awesome), FL sizer and seater. Then they throw in a shellholder, scope, some load data. I would strongly suggest you get this set.

However for best accuracy in a bolt rifle, you may want to look at a better seater and a body die.

i use the deluxe collet & i bought the crimper as well. When i have once fired brass from my gun, i necksize only & a light crimp. When its unknown brass i full length size first.
