Just to add to what Claybuster already said so you have some kind of comparision besides "flat" and "high". Most flat shooting skeet/field guns are said to shoot 50/50 or 50% of the pattern above the point of aim (POA) and 50% below. Most dedicated trap guns are set up in the 70/30 range or 70% high of POA but I see guys shoot them as much as 100% high. Most sporting guns I've patterned seem to be about 60/40. They are basicly just a fancy field gun with a little less drop in the stock which causes the 10% rise in patten impact. Some of the guns out there have an adjustable rib that allows for an adjustable point of impact (POI) but your getting into big $$$ there.
