Difference scope base

It refers to minutes of angle. Normally the base is parallel to the axis of the rifle, and elevation is obtained by adjusting the scope. When longer ranges enter the picture, there may be insufficient adjustment within the scope, so the base is given a slant, to increase elevation. Additionally a scope is often optically superior, and its adjustments more effective toward the centre. Building in some elevation allows the scopes adjustments to be kept away from the extremes. A base with 30MOA incorporated slants the scope more than one with 20 or 10.
