Differences between the Mossberg 500,590 & 590A1 persuader models

So as I understand it

500
#50411 12 ga. 500® Pump Action Persuader®, 6-shot capacity w/ 2 3/4" shells, 3" chamber, blued finish, black synthetic stock,18 1/2" cylinder bore, bead sight barrel, includes Pistol Grip Kit.

Light weight receiver
Plastic trigger group

590
#50668 590® 12 gauge Pump Action w/ Speed-Feed® synthetic stock, Ghost Ring Sights, 9-shot capacity, 20" cylinder bore barrel, parkerized finish.

Heavy receiver
Plastic trigger group

590A1
51663 590 A1™ same as #50668 pictured above, except features heavy-wall barrel, metal trigger guard and safety button and field synthetic stock.

Heavy receiver

I really want to know what do I get between the 500 and the 590, the 590A1 is bit out of my price range.

Between the 500 and the 590 you get a thicker walled more durable receiver (not that the 500 receiver is likely to break), Ghost ring sights (a real plus), and that's about it for tangible improvements.

I'm pretty sure that 6 shot/9 shot capacity rating in including one in the chamber. I've never been able to put more than 5 x 2.75 in my 500.

There seems to be more aftermarket products geared to the 500, but that 590 looks good straight from the box. Unfortunatly the accessory I want, the line launcher, only works on the 590. :(

I can put 6 3" slugs into my 500, but I risk the follower jamming. One thing I don't like about the 500 is that you can't easily disassemble the tube.

Here's a 14' 590

590a1

The 590 has a thicker walled receiver and different barrel over the 500, same trigger and safety, the 590a1, metal safety, easy clean out loading tube and the nice ghost ring sights, Ive owned all three plus a million 870's, just cant beat the old 590a1, tough, dependable, good looking and excellent quality, pay a little more for allot more

It is easier said than done finding a 590A1 for a reasonable price in Canada right now. Wholesale Sports is out of them and they are talking 4 to 8 months for delivery. I have found them other places for up to $200 more than what Wholesale wanted, so I decided to get the 590 instead. I actually just bought one off a gentleman on CGN; his price was not bad and he had it there unfired.
