Differences in 9mm brass ?

Thanks for the headsup. This IVI does not have the cross and circle in the headstamp so should be okay (just have a simple Lee press, no fancy Dillon).

You will find that you will get more consistant results with a single make of brass--internal capacity and case wall thicknesses will vary between the brands. If you are useing mixed brass it is especially important to taper crimp the cases.

If you can cast a decent bullet like the Lee 124gr. micro-groove,then you can make a box of 50 excellent feeding ,straight shooting cartridges with your scrounged brass and wheelweights for under three dollars.That's almost as cheap as shooting a .22 cal.I like to separate my brass according to brand so as to try to keep my reloads as consistent as possible.

Best I can describe it is looks like a little ring around the primer between it and the case, sealant around primer can be a hint.

Will reload as batches - any brands better / worse for consistency between case volume, length... or more a # times reloaded issue than brand issue?

Have a factory crimp die, will use that for crimping. Cheers.
 
The potential extra accuracy you gain with sorting brass won't make any difference for the majority of 9mm pistols, they are not accurate enough to take advantage of that difference.

You would get better overall accuracy if you play with powder loads than worrying about matching cases.

Many years ago I sorted everything, but now I just dip into my brass buckets and start loading.
