Different bolt handle for a Savage 110

I'm looking a changing out the bolt handle on my savage 110, looking at maybe a butterknife style.

Something classic would be the direction I'm looking at.

Well in the world of bolt handles, a butter knife style is a huge backward step...

I am pretty sure you will have to have a custom one made... talk about ugly on ugly...

Yeah, though I wanted to get a nicer handle something along the lines of a classic bolt handle, the butterknife is nice but might not be the best choice. Would you have any ideas?

It's your choice on what you want... I think the majority of the tactical handles are really ugly... I always like a small ball... but that's just me... do what you want...

You don't have to weld it to the bolt though, the bolt handle is a seperate piece so I could get a smith to weld the bolt like you say, but t a blank that you mill the slot into.

The problem is what kind of bolt handle that I'm going to go for.

If you want a classic appearance (a stretch on a Savage) you will have to modify a current offering to get what you are after. You can get a big knobbed replacement and turn it down or you can weld on a pre-shaped knob. If you wanted a butterknife style, I don't think there is any option but to make the handle and weld it onto the existing shank.
