I've seen the charts, I know what I'm doing when I miss, just can't figure out the why of it all. When I shoot my cz85 badly, I flinch it low; centre, but low. I know that I'm flinching, I see it when I load random snap caps. When I miss with my gp100 (.38 special), I miss high and usually left (right handed shooter, double action all the time).

Anybody else do this type of thing? Other than generally poor skills can anyone offer an explanation? Recoil from the two feel about the same, maybe a bit snappier from the cz.

shooting low is heeling, you are anticipating the recoil and compensating for it by pushing the gun forward as you squeeze the trigger. With the revolver, try to keep the trigger shoe in the middle of your finger pad, it sounds like you are pulling with the tip of your finger.

Revolver grip - totally different from semi-auto grip (right? if not, search youtube for revolver grip). Same answer though - wall drill. Stand back from a white wall and carefully dry fire the pistols, while maintaining sight focus. Watch the effect the hammer release/drop has on the sights. Repeat drill until the effect is zero. It gets to be a bit Zen after a while.
