Just curious as to what is the shot shells FPS max speed for a semi auto shotgun...

im looking to buy some ammo for waterfowl season and some people say that you cannot shoot more then 1550 FPS with a full choke. then i went to SAIL and the guy tells me with factory choke that came with the gun Full steel i can shoot 1600+ shells? is that true or not, if so what do you shoot and with what choke?

I've never heard of this issue before. Best thing to do is see how each brand (and velocity) of ammunition patterns through each choke in your gun.

Choke designations have become complicated. Full steel is a different size than full, for most manufacturers. If your choke is full steel, and your gun is rated for steel then your good to go for any steel load - with the caveat above that the full steel choke may not pattern the best compared to other chokes.
Finally, the Remington Hypersonic (1700 fps?) have caused damage in semis - they are just too hot.

I have been shooting Kent Silver steel 1550 FPS BB in 3 1/2
but i can get a deal on winchester blind side 3 1/2 but its 1675 FPS is that ok in a full choke steel?

What semi are you shooting ? The only chokes that I am aware of that have a speed rating are wad wizard and pattern master wad stripping style chokes . both manufactures recommend ammo NO faster than 1500 fps I believe .faster than that and the choke does not work as designed . with the blind side you may find a more open choke works better . as blind side as a diamond cut wad ( flaps that open in free flight ) .

When did any of the gun manufacturers suggest it was a good idea to use Steel Shot in a Full choke combo?
The FPS has nothing to do with the choke restriction.
Back in the day I was shooting lead at 1350 FPS in 1-3/8th oz load in full choke and that was pretty devastating to the geese and ducks.
Use a Modified choke in your gun or an Improved Mod if your gun maker has those available and pattern your gun with several different loads.
Federal Blue box was all I was using before i gave up Waterfowl ....
Just my experience and opinion.

Full/steel is a new designation that some manufacturers are using. In reality, it is about equal in constriction to the standard mod choke.

i do pattern bmy loads to see which works best....

just curious as to see what some of you had to say because some people have said dont shoot fast loads in full chokes. just getting yall's 2 cents! great input though!

I have never heard of an issue as far as velocity goes for firing steel out of steel rated full choke tubes or any tunes for that matter .
When in doubt I always run an open choke when shooting steel however.
