Hey guys. I received my 858 from Westrifle a few days ago (pics and brief review of my experience this evening), and upon inspection of this awesome little rifle I noticed the release button to fold the stock is very tight. To fold the stock I have to turn the rifle upside down and smack the button with the palm of my hand. Once it's folded, it's easy to push the button to unfold it back out. I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced this. I've been trying to work it in a bit but it's not getting much easier. Simply pushing the button with my finger is impossible. I'm not overly worried about it, but would be even happier with it if the folding stock was more functional.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks, bfiles. I'll give it a try. It sort of feels like the button could be catching on a small burr that wasn't cleanly reamed out. Unfolding it is no problem but getting it to fold without giving the button a smack is a pain. I'll do what you recommended. I appreciate the help.

They are cut pretty rough. You can take it apart by undoing the button itself. It is staked in place. I used the leather tab from an SKS sling and a tiny little pipe wrench though vice grips or channel locks will work too. Polish and grease the internals and its good to go. Before doing that I found wrapping my right hand around the buttstock from the top while using my trigger finger to push up the button worked best for folding, and using my right thumb to push the button up with my fingers grabbing the buttstock worked for opening.

I bought one that is really stiff and one just perfect, not sure if the good one was worked in or modified, but the stiff one really annoys me
