Digital Camo 10/22

I just got one of these a few days ago. While I like the gun, you may want to steer away from the digi camo finish. It came new out of the box with scratches and abrasions, nothing earth shattering, but somewhat disapointing fresh out of the box. Over the last couple days I have been out in the brush with the gun and I am pretty disapointed overall with the finish, it is not very durable, I am not overly rough with my guns but don't baby them either. All said and done, I would not pick this gun again, I would stay with a Ruger 10/22 but not in this finish.

I can't comment on the finish, but Bass Pro in Vaughn, Ontario had one digital camo and one forest type camo in stock as of yesterday.

Is it just the barrel and/the metal componants or is it the stock as well?

I have an email into the Bass Pro outside of Calgary to see if they have any in stock. I'll be in Calgary in about three weeks so I guess I'll check them out if I have time.

It would be nice to see one in person before buying given the issues described above. I've developed a bit of a digital camo theme with some of my other gear and I thought it would be cool to add the 10/22 to the mix. But since I'll be buying a 10/22 regardless I guess I should keep myself open to other stock/finish options.

The stock is plastic with some sort of plasticy coating on it which has scratched, the barrel has also scratched. I took it apart for cleaning and noticed the trigger group had flakes of finish coming off. When the barrel was separated from the stock I noticed some of the finish from the stock stuck to the barrel. I don't know if I got a bit of a lemon when it came to the finish but as I said earlier I would not do it again. I may just ditch the stock all togther and get an Archangel kit. Perhaps your results may be better.

i have a forest camo one and i havent noticed any wear or flaking of the finish, and i have shot it a ton but havent been out in the bush with it much. it does ride in the trunk of my car without a case or anything tho.
