Digital powder scale & Dispenser

Don

Is there a chance that you may have left powder in your dispenser for a while. I did this a year or so after I bought mine and it seized up on me. I took it apart cleaned it as best I could. When I put it back together it worked fine. I've had my Pact for over 6 years now with only that problem.

No I empty the dispenser after I am finished with it, and I also leave it unplugged when not in use. The problem I am having is the high speed motor, when I purchased the dispenser it didn't work so I sent it back and they fixed it. I have since dispensed 300 charges (maybe 350 if you count a few over throws and the calibrations) and now it will only start to calibrate and then quit. Without any powder I can get the high speed tube to run most times but some times it stops on a spot that will not start again, if you move the tube a bit it will start again but with powder in it once the high speed tube stops it will not start again. Pact told me that the motor needs replacing, which should not be with only 300-350 dispenses it should last a lot longer. I wonder if one of the reasons that RCBS stopped using Pact for their scales and dispensers was the quality of the current products. I am glad to hear that you have had good luck with yours, I have decided that I don't want to take the chance of getting it fixed and then it stop working after another 300-350 dispenses. What I have spent so far on shipping the dispenser to Pact and back to me is getting close enough to the original purchase price that I have had enough. If I knew for sure that this fix would fix it correctly and work for a long time I would likely do it but with what has happened so far and the attitude of the guy at Pact I will give the RCBS a try and hope for better results.
