Digital scale recommendation.... Dillon?

My dad really wants to get a digital scale to supplement his Lyman 500 which he doesn't care for all that much.

Can you guys tell me what your experiences are with the Dillon D-Terminator digital scale? Is it good quality? I see that it is accurate to 0.01gr. All his reloading equipment is Dillon, so I figure if they make a good scale as well, might as well get that one so it all matches lol

He wants to spend about $150 before taxes. Or if there is a better scale made by a reputable manufacturer let me know.

Acculab has been good to me. Cost alot more then 150 though. Alberta Tactical sells them here.

I've had it for a couple of years now without any problems.
I load pistol with a Dillon 650 and will do a powder check on the digital
for the first couple of powder drops.
For rifle I use a beam scale and trickle each load,but I'll use the Dillon to verify that my first beam scale reading is correct.
I wouldn,t have a problem recommending the Dillon.

Same here I have a Dillon electronic scale,been using it for a few years....quick, accurate and reliable.

No, it is accurate to 0.1 grain. If you want accuracy to 0.01 grain, you are going to spend a LOT more than $150.

Look at the Acculab.

Oops I meant to put 0.1 lol..... thanks for the input so far guys. That's what my dad wants to use it for, just to double check that his Dillon xl650 measure is putting out the right powder charge.

Get the RCBS scale and you have the option of turning it into a chargemaster combo at some point.

I had a D Terminator. It was a decent scale for checking dropped loads as it is supposed to be used for, but it was inconsistant when trickling up a charge. In conversation with Dillon I was told that that scale was NOT designed for trickling charges, just dumped loads.
I now use an Acculab and swear by them.

I've used a D Terminator for years, its one of the finest scales I've owned. No problems whatsoever. I use it for anything, mostly reloading, but it is also great for weighing newborn rattlesnakes!

I bought a Chargemaster and will never look back.

I have a Dillon, a Lyman and a RCBS. All work fine. I use RCBS for trickling.

Lyman takes a 9v battery when you want to use it in the field. Don't know if others take a battery or not.

BTW, a digital scales makes a perfect present for a reloader who does not have one....

Have had several always end up back on a balance scale, to damn fussy and inaacurate.
