Well I'm considering switching to a digital scale over 505 i have but I'm wondering. How do they compare? Mind you the balance scale is checked agaist checked weigths and adjusted. I would assume the balance scale would have more erro due to the interpretation alignment of the marks. Is is significant or minimal?

Cheers

I find that my digital scale offers the same accuracy as my 10-10 but it is much quicker. It is verified with check weights, just like a balance beam.

I have an RCBS digital as well as the 10-10 and agree with Stubblejumper. The digital is quite a bit quicker and I did not see any real difference in accuracy between the two. I also bought the RCBS digital dispenser that works with the scale and my feelings are mixed. It provides good accuracy on trickle mode, but it takes considerably longer (I would guess by a factor of 3-4 times) than the conventional dispenser and hand-trickling. I have been told that the Lyman model, which is consolidated, is faster but I have no experience with this product.

I have found the several digital scales that I have had have been fussy, put the pan on get 1 reading, put the pan on get a different reading with the same charge. Sold the digital and now stick with my RCBS 10/10

digital scale

Have owned a PACT digital scale for about 8 years....Made in USA......it comes with check weights......displays in grains, and grams for European style reloading data.......is twice as fast to use as my 505 BBScale.........has been totally accurate/reliable ....weighs bullets for sorting to over 500 grains too....!

Mine is 9 volt powered only....".dollar store" type 9 v causes problems.......quality batteries only!!

PACT made digital scales for RCBS for a long while.
I wonder if they still do.

I used the Lee one for a time. Got sick of the dump..... wait for it to settle, trickle out the rest...fumbled the pan a few times  , royal PITA.
I use a RCBS 750 now. She's great!! I found that I have to fire it up and leave it alone for a couple of minutes for repeatable readings. I just turn it on when I'm setting up and she's good to go when the powder comes out.

Here is my post about the Chargemaster I bought last January from Midsouth Shooters Supply in the USA.

Hi Guys, it arrived today so it took 13 days to get here and it was opened by Canada Customs. So, I had to pay $21.20 for GST and $5.00 for the handling fee for a total of $26.20 plus $337.03 previously charged for a grand total of $363.23 to my door. Not bad at Wholsesale Sports it would have cost me $492.15 with tax only, then I would have to add shipping or $40.00 for gas to drive to Edmonton and back, so I saved at least $130.00 buying it from Midsouth Shooters Supply in the USA.
