What is a good /accurate digital powder scale, available in Canada? Suggestions are appreciated. I am a point where ES and vertical dispersion needs to be sorted out.

I use MTM Case-gard DS-750 Mini Digital Reloading Scale. Works fine with my 9mm reloads. I am not just sure of the accuracy for I have nothing to compare the measurements I get. It thus come with a reference weight for checking. Best pricing is from Le Baron. Since you are in BC, check Budget Shooters Supply. I am pretty sure Henry will find one that will work for you. Otherwise, you can try ordering by phone thru Le Baron. Shipping might kill the deal. Buy local if you can find one.

I'm just kind of starting out too. I've been using the lee powder scale that came with my kit. It claims to be incredibly accurate. It does seem very sensitive even for being cheap. According to it, my charge weights are varying a lot. Mostly .2 or .3 grains but up to +/- .5 grains. Is it my powder dispenser or my scale? Im also using the lee powder measure that came with the kit as well. Entirely possible its a piece of junk too. I can dispense/weigh within .2 or .3 grains relatively consistently. Is that enough to worry about? The .5 im definitely not happy with. I just don't know, do I change my scale or my powder measure? I'm using extruded power, IMR 4895.
OP- not meaning to hijack this thread. I may need to buy a digital scale as well!

I have the Rcbs rangemaster 750 and it is a excellent scale I have checked it against high end beams and it is dead on as long as You calibrate it and keep it clean like the instructions say

I have had two of the MTM scales; one was accurate to .1 grain, the other was .5 grain. I did not have confidence in the product so I no longer use it. For the budget minded person, go mechanical. They are slower, but I do have more confidence in them. I have a Dillon (Ohaus) mechanical scale, and yes it was $90 but over the grand scheme of things it is probably the cheapest reloading tool I have.

If you have the money, you could go with a Dillon Eliminator Electronic scale from MD Gardner, or any of the other ones he has as they are all solid scales.

If you wanted even more resolution .02 grains than you can order High Perceision Electronic Scale from Uniquetek in the states as they will ship to Canada

Have one of these and it's the next step up till you get to the real competition ones that I could not afford :)

One thing to consider is many of the high end scales don't measure in grains which then means You have to do conversion for any powder load into grams most likely. So make sure your aware of that and decide if You want to do conversions.

I have a cheap Frankford arsenal digital scale that allowed my savage ml10 4759 loads to have es under 5fps and many were 0 fps difference. On a side note no matter what the accuracy of the charge, your es may vary over 100fps for other reasons. Most times the right combination of powder will have low es even with charges that are off by 1 or more grains.

Your run-out from the powder measure is quite normal for any of the course extruded powders. Probably not a thing wrong with your measure or scale. With finer grained/ball powder your run-out will decrease to less than .1 of a grain. The run-out with the extruded powder is why powder ticklers were invented...to fine tune virtually every "course powder" charge thrown with the measure.

A digital scale will speed up the loading process a bit but as for being more exacting, you are still at the mercy of your measure & powder choice.

I have a similar beam scale that came with my Lee Classic Cast Turret Kit. Too fussy to use. The lee Auto Powder dispenser seem to work good with the disc. If you can find the double disc, you will be good with smaller charges. Just do not use the Lee Adjustable charge bar for loads under 5 grains using Bullseye, Win 231, HP38, Clays, Titegroup. You will get inaccurate drops unless you do some mods.

I've only been using the FX120 for a couple of months but I'm blown away by how fast and stable it is. I'll stand by my previous statement that GemPro is a great value, but if you can swing the $500 then the FX120 is worth picking up.

~ $270 retail CDN, ~$130 USA of course there is shipping, duty, brokerage fees with that. We have a business so just waiting to see what the wholesale price is. Thanks all for the info.
