digital scale

For checking thrown charges all I use is a very old Bonanza beam scale. It doesn't even have any damping. That I do carefully with my finger. But running it that way it is extremely fast and I have never felt the need to upgrade.

X2 on the Bonanza except that mine is the model 2, and has some kind of magic dampening. It's become the only scale I use routinely, but have a Cabella's digital that works fine and is handy for weighing things that are beyond the Bonanza's limits or for segregating components by weight. Not that I'm anal enough to do that more than once or twice per decade.
In the recycle bin :) are a Redding that floats for eternity and a Lee with a home made but functional poise weight. They both work but are comparatively a PITA to use.

I have a RCBS beam scale and thought I would decrease my time at the bench and increase accuracy when measuring powder with a digital. I purchased a XT1500 from Cabela's. It works fine until you trickle powder. All bets are off then. It responds slow and is not consistent with each throw when trickling. When verifying the odd throw it seems consistent. I just do not trust it. Back to the beam for me.

Here's a link to a review on 6mmBR of the Chargemaster Combo.

RCBS ChargeMaster Powder Dispensing Speed Tests
We threw 20 charges with both Hodgdon H4831sc and IMR 4064, and timed the charges to completion with a stopwatch. The ChargeMaster's average "fill" times were 8.95 seconds for H4831sc and 12.3 seconds for IMR 4064.

I changed my routine somewhat when I bought the Chargemaster.
I'll resize, trim and bevel my brass then hand prime the cases.
Instead of setting them up in a loading block I drop them loose into a small plastic tub.
I set the tub beside the 1500 and set my charge weight.
Set up the seating die and your bullets beside the press.
I can then drop a charge of powder and let it trickle into the pan.
When the 1500 stops I take the pan and fill a case, replace the pan and hit dispense again.
While its dropping charge #2 I'm seating the bullet in case #1.
Place the fully loaded round into a storage box or loading block and by the time you're finished you have charge #2 ready to funnel into the next case.

Dont worry about the Chargemaster taking 12-15 seconds to dispense a charge of powder.
It will be ready before you are.

With the Chargemaster combo you will easily load 1 round per minute with finished cases and have match grade ammo. What's not to like?
