Well after 3 months of being in transit I finally got my press. I guess I should have paid for shipping instead of having it pass through 4 hands to get here because I'm cheap.

BTW thanks to all those that helped with that if they are on here.

It's a used RL 1050, set up for 38spcl/357 and 9mm. I also grabbed the stuff for .45acp.

I just got it set up last night, and cranked out a few hundred rounds.

What a sweet press, no issues whatsoever, just cranked out the ammo. Just for curiosity I stop watched myself on 100 rounds (The counter makes that really easy) and I ended up at 4 minutes and 40 seconds, and that wasn't pushing things at all, in fact I spent some of that time fumbling with bullets I couldn't hold onto.

I must say, if I can fill primer tubes with any amount of efficiency, this press will definitely live up to the reputation.

Unfortunately now one of dillons primer tube fillers is calling my name loudly.

You bastards... you've just reminded me that I should go spend some quality time with MY 1050... problem is, I loaded such an obscene amount of ammo the last time I loaded (in such a short time, even filling primer tubes by hand) that I don't have much brass handy... :p

I'm actually thinking about buying some bulk .45 ACP brass just to feed the damn thing. Between the 1050 and my bullet casting habit... yikes!

Yeah I've had it for two evenings now, and I'm thinking I need to be an automatic caster, because even with 6 cavity molds it's going to take a lot of casting to keep up.

Just under 1k rounds loaded, and only one screw up, somehow I managed to miss the case with the bullet. I remembered to grab the bullet, and tried to place it, but somehow missed. Considering all the other presses I've used, that's pretty good for me to only have that screw up.

I never minded reloading, but this makes it so much fun. The brass feeder is mesmerizing. If I happen to run the brass feed tube empty, I have to bring over a chair just to get high enough to watch the case feeder run, it's fascinating.

Thank god I use cast bullets, or the bullet feeder would probably be irresistable.

Congratulations on the new upgrade.
If you get a chance show us some pictures of it in action.
I m no psychic but i predict lots of fun shooting time in your future.
Have fun

Ok, I have some questions for you dillon guys.

I bought a conversion kit for 45acp, but I accidentally had a 45acp case in with the 38spcl, and it didn't fit into case feeder tube. A good thing in this case, but does that mean I need a different tube for loading 45acp?

Also I am not sure what plate I have in the case feeder. I notice they call for the same plate for 38spcl, and 45acp, but a different one for 9mm. Can I get away with the larger one for 9mm? I got the press used with stuff for 9mm and 38's, so I'm assuming they were loading 9mm's with this case feeder, but I don't know.

Each caliber conversion requires a different adapter for the bottom of the tube, where it meets the black plastic housing on top of the case feeder shuttle.

There are 2 shellplates for the casefeeder, a small and a large. A small will do for 9mm, and I think it also works with .38 Spec. You will need the large plate for .45. It's entirely possible that your .38 will also work with the lagre casefeeder plate.
