Well tech support is closed for the night, so I'll see if anyone here can help!

Just setting up a 1050 for the first time, and everything seemed great, but putting a case through (45 ACP), the powder doesn't drop nor does the case bell. As per the manual, I lowered the powder/bell die. The powder drops now, but no bell. I kept going lower and lower until I could go no lower, the die now touches the shell plate. I can't get a bullet to rest on the case using Hornady 230 gr FMJ FP .451 diameter bullets. The caliper also shows no difference between the base and the top of the case. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You do have the powder funnel installed in the die, don't you?

My thoughts too - if you haven't put the powder bushing in the powder die, you're in for a long night...

There should be a metal 'slug' that fits in the powder die and contacts the casing. If it's just the black hollow die and then the powder measure, you're missing the bushing.

yeah that's in there and is set up as per the manual, but that little thing retracts as it contacts the case and recesses into the main housing of the die each time

Have you looked at the schematic and re-verified that ALL the parts are there?

For example, for my powder drop die in .223 the bushing is actually TWO parts... do you have both parts, if necessary, for .45 ACP? The die should be nearly "full" of bushing before you put the powder measure on it. If not, something is amok.

Also, if the little white square that is on the bellcrank of the powder measure doesn't interact with the charge bar, you're not going to get any powder or belling. Belling doesn't start until the charge bar has traveled its full length.

If that bar doesn't move from back to front when you run a case through the die, check to make sure the little white teflon square is in the side groove.

It sounds like the powder measure is not properly installed on top of the die. Can you take a close up picture of it and post in this thread?

OK.. powder measure does need to be bolted on properly
Heights are all relative to the decapping die...
So if you need more spin down on the other dies spin up the decapping die.. but if the dies are already both touching the plate something else is wrong..

make sure you are using the right powder funnel there should be an "E" on the powder funnel (for 45 ACP)
