Goodday gents,

I'm getting a 550B in .223, and I'm wondering what bits I need to do a quick change conversion over to 9mm.

Can someone provide me a list of the specific items I need? (Shell plate, dies, powder funnel, powder dispenser, etc??)

Thanks!

Conversion kit #20127 (Funnel, shellplate and buttons)
dies (your choice of manufacturer) or dillon #14406
and quick change kit #22058 ( powder measure, powder die, toolhead and stand)

If you want a quote let me know.. All three of those things are going up slightly in the new year....

Please quote me on the above items in 9mm.

Also, it appears that while the press (which just arrived!!) is setup for .223 Rem, it did not come with the dies as I anticipated. (doh)

So, can you add a set of .223 Remington dies to that, and send the quote to:

coffee@ns.sympatico.NOSPAM.ca

Please remove the "NOSPAM"

Thanks!

The quick change kit is nice to have but not mandatory. In addition to the conversion kit and dies, you will need the powder die. If you want to keep your dies ajusted, then the toolhead is a must. As for the powder mesure, this is an extra. If you want to save some $$$, you can swap yours on the powder die and toolhead, it take only a few minutes to adjust.

Rl550b

Get the RL550B Deluxe Quick Change Assembly 22058 very handy and you can keep your settings as it is while changing caliber setup rather than changing die setup from one caliber to another using one tool head (tideous job). It is $76.95 US from Dillon. It comes with the following:
1). Tool Head
2). Tool head stand
3). Powder measure (comes with small and large pistol powder dispensing bar).
4.) Powder die

You will need to buy a 9mm conversion kit, the kit comes with 9mm case plate and 9mm powder funnel = $65.95 US
You will need to buy a 3-die set for 9mm luger = Lee = $49.00 CAD (4-die, which includes FCD), whereas Dillon 3-die set will cost you $54.95 US.

There are a couple ways to do it.. But if you don't get the extra powder measure you will have to take it off, empty it.. cycle it a couple times and then reinstall and adjust it....that will take more then a couple minutes.. You will also need to make sure you keep a container for your powder and you can and will spill some...

Yes you can buy the lee dies and they are cheaper but you woll need to remove them to clean them and buying a four die set won't make you life easier as you only have room for 3 dies on the press..

And last you can buy from the US but you will have to pay their handling and shipping fees which can get a little looney.. USPS you wait weeks to get and courier you get hit with nasty brokerage fees... If I don't have stock I can get it in a couple days I keep about 20K of dillon stuff in stock.. And If you buy from me I can also do the warranty work from here too I have 3 five gallon pails of parts... Whenever somebday needs a part I don't have I order 3.. No sense in waiting 3 weeks for a part to come from AZ...
