Ok so I am setting up my Dillon 550 to load some 45-70 but my pet load is imr 4198 stick powder. And well after an hour of trying/experimenting and frustration I have came to conclude the Dillon powder measures don't care for stick powder. (Just my recent experience) so has anyone else noticed this. Cause I got a hornady powder throw and a lee bench mounted and they both drop this powder accurately and consistently.
I guess I'll have to find a new powder and work up a new load. What powder do you guys recommend to work in the powder drop? I am
Loading 385 gr cast hollow points. 400 gr cast flat points. And 420 gr cast flat points. I like to load at the top end of the scale as it is more fun that way.
(Yes I do have many manuals out and going through my Lyman cast as I write this) but unsure of what powders are ball and flake.
Thanks
Ken
