hi all, thinking of investing in one, should i buy in Canada or is it worth the savings to buy from US? also your thoughts/experience about this press. will be loading 45 ACP, also what accessories would be beneficial to maximize output? only have a couple hrs/week to reload so i wana get as much done as possible lol

I bought mine in Canada from a site sponsor.
Most important extra is the case feeder. Def get it, well worth the money. I also bought the primer tube filler - saves time and annoyance. Bullet feeder can also help, I have one, but find I don't always use it. If you're also going to do other calibres, conv kit and extra toolhead, powder dispensers.

The Dillon 650 is one of the machines that can have all the accessories to make loading ammo a very fast process. Get them all plus a air actuator and you can sit back and watch it make ammo for you

I find it an awesome press. Bought one from The Shooting Edge. For max output a case feeder is crucial. Also a few primer tubes makes it go fast. Also I can advice to buy the Dillon carbide pistol dies, I really like them, and they're designed for a progressive press.
I don't think you can't go wrong with it.

I bought everything from Dillon, took 4 days to be delivered to my door. Shipping was $175 and of course I had to pay taxes. $175 may seem a lot but keep in mind I didn't just order the press, I ordered all the accessories/conversions/dies for the calibers I shoot, I think the delivery weighed approx. 105lbs.

I bought mine used of the EE and love it. I suggest you get the case feeder as well. The warranty service provided by Dillon is second to none. I only load 45 and 9.
You paid 157 for shipping from epps to Barrie. Holy S hit that's pricey. I woulda picked it up myself and hit Rama on the way home.

one of the best features a 650 allows is the use of a powder checker in the 3rd hole. Quite simply one of the best insurance purchases you will ever make. A one-time purchase at $85.
I have used one for years and wouldn't load without it. Just re-enforced that last night. I was loading a batch of .45 auto fresh out of the tumbler. The checker alerted me of an over charge in one case. Upon inspection I discovered it wasn't a double charge but the case had a caked wad of dried hard sand from the range in the base, probably would have resulted in a squibbe round and possibly a ruined barrel or worse.

. I run a different brand of press using the RCBS "Lockout" die. Using some powders in 45 ACP, doubles are certainly possible and possible squibs are a given. IMHO, dies like the "Powder Cop" that you have to stare at are of questionable utility. Get the mechanical RCBS "Lock Out" or Dillon's audible warning unit. They're worth every penny.I try to buy locally first, and north of the 49th second, if the landed cost isn't too far out of line.
If we don't support the locals, they won't be there when we really need them!
But inventories being what they are, buying direct is the only way to go sometimes.
If ordering from Dillon, be sure to check out their "Ammo Boxes and Bins" section... eg - 10 x 100rd 9mm boxes for $15.20.. Loading up on plastic can offset some of the shipping charges
Be sure to get a "XL 650 Spare Parts Kit - Stock Number: 21146"

I've had my 650 for a little over a year. Got the roller handle, strong mount, bullet tray, case feeder, powder checker and believe that these are essential add-ons. Over the years Had Hornady lock and load, lee turret press and other single stage presses and I'm really impressed with the Dillon. The Dillon lets me load a comfortable 500 rds of 45 ACP per hour which translates to 1 hour of reloading to 3-4 hrs of shooting
As others have said the factory support is phenomenal, although Hornady also has fantastic customer support.
