I also have a sporterized Schmidt Rubin 1889 in 30-30. In a careless moment, the back notch sight was ripped off. I tried to replace it but no luck. I am thinking about a peep sight mounted on the back receiver area. there is enough flat area to drill and tap for a mount. Anyone have suggestions?
