Having just finished watching Jurassic Park, it recalled a discussion I had with a Friend about what to use to kill a T-Rex. Trivial wounding, for obvious reasons, would not be likely to even slow the animal down. I figure that one should probably treat it such as one would treat an Elephant hunt and take a similar firearm. As such, I think I would take a .416 of some sort(likely a Rigby...but maybe a Wby too...) loaded with solids, and a .338 RUM or .340 loaded with X-bullets for the smaller ones.

I'm thinking of something in a 105mm smooth bore. It's got quite a bit of recoil but the knock down power is fantastic. The only problem is the price of the cartridges but I think it would go down with reloading.:D here's my project rifle.

Well, that would be the ideal hunting vehicle...

Bare hands

Sneak up behind him and shove your arm up his arse. When your finger pops out his nose bend it at the first knuckle and pull back really hard. This should turn him inside out and he will be dead and gutted all in one shot.

All that will be left to do is phone the taxdidermist and sausage maker.

I'll second the vote for 105 mm Howitzer, but of course I'm biased.

second choice would be a 12 gauge with buckshot... aim for the EYES and you're good to go ;)

cheers

Take a 20 lb piece of Spam.

Insert 3 sticks of 75% Forcite, primed with an electric blasting cap.

Connect 200m of blasting wire to the detonator.

Run the detonating wire to a convenient blind located cross-wind of the Spam.

When he picks up the snack, touch the wires to the terminal of a fully charged 12V truck battery. Poof!

Is he kidding? I'm not so sure I'd trust .50 BMG on a T-Rex.

+1 for whoever said RPG.
Honestly, I think that from a reasonable distance, a .308 200gr X-bullet would do the trick if placed well (from something like a .300Wby). I'd treat it like an Elephant though...heavy bone, heavy hide...I'm sure you can follow my logic.
