For all those who want DIP products I contacted them and found a way to get their stuff... you gotta jump through some hoops but it should work fine. I'm in Winnipeg and just south of the boarder there are MANY shipping depots. Basically you order what you want ship it to that address then you go down pick it up pay a small fee (couple dollars) pick up your parcel from the depot and bring it across yourself. I do this lots with offroad truck parts so I asked if DIP would allow me to do the same and they said no problem. All I had to do was put the shipping depot I use as my billing and shipping address. I just placed the order so we'll see next week if it worked. By my understanding we are allowed to bring back $500 worth of gun parts before having any type of issue. Make sure to bring a copy of the invoice that clearly states the price of the products you bought and bring them back across the boarder should be as easy as claiming them when you come back in and paying tax on them.

Hope this helps some people out that may live kinda close to the boarder. I'm an hour and a half away but it's worth the 3 hr round trip for stuff when the shipping companies charge way to much or won't ship at all across the boarder!

I'm sure a quick google search for shipping depots in towns just across the boarder near you will net you lots. In the 2 towns close to the boarder here there is about half dozen shipping places that offer this.

When you do this you are breaking US export laws and can get in some serious trouble.

The exemption on dollar value onky applies to licensed exporters which you are not!

There is a reason DIP is not allowed to export them in the first place!

If you want to get barred from entering the US and face heavy fines and confiscations then go for it.

Good luck...

If the items are ITAR controlled, and/or the manufacturer does not have a curren export license, it is illegal for you to bring them across the border by yourself. Perhaps it is legal to bring them in to Canada, but it will be illegal to take them out of the states.

People have gotten in serious trouble before. Even if you call CBSA and ask "is it okay to bring X into Canada?" And they say yes, you could still get stopped and arrested by US Customs.

Have you tried contacting IRunGuns, or Prophet River Firearms, or the Gravelle Agency or one of the other people who specialize in bringing thigs across the border?

Also, a point to consider is that some products have exclusive distribution deals, "grey market" things that were brought across by someone else might void the normal warranty.

If you email kinney's they can get most dip products you want if they are not listed on their website. I asked about the cz 455 trigger guard, they could get it but would be months to unknown time for them to get it from dip. They are good to deal with.

The only way Kinney's can ship DIP stuff to Canada is if the OEM has done the necessary ITAR paperwork... this is why Brownell's and others can ship similar parts from one company but not another... some companies just couldn't be bothered jumping through the hoops and paying the fees to sell their products to the minuscule Canadian market.
