Straight up newb, I've only shot the M&P 40 and 9 a box of each. I felt that gun was too small for my hands when I squeezed the trigger my finger was wrapping around and jamming into my thumb the gun just felt dinky.
I held the CZ 75 and 85 I really liked the way they felt and being left handed the 85 with the ambidextrous features seems like it might be a good fit. What is similar to the CZ 85? Is this a good newb starting point? I'd like to shoot 9mm.

The M&P has replaceable backstraps. Usually comes with the medium installed, but there is a large that adds a bit of bulk around the back and up into the tang. It should put your hand back a bit and have less finger on the trigger.

Yup M&P comes with three different backstraps. The small one I have the same problem the OP has mentioned the middle one is perfect. If you have that problem with the large backstrap then you have a hand to big for any pistol. lol

They (Double Action in Michigan) said they didn't have the backstraps that all they had was the plain jane gun, I'll see if the local shop has it. Thanks for all the suggestions.
