Dirt Pigs 2015 Ontario

Shooting Groundhogs as pest control for the local farmers in Eastern Ontario. Calibers ranged from .223 to .270 win but most were 243 AI.
Added from the U Toob site cause I was going to ask.
Thanks for sharing the fun days and really liked the 2 for 1 shot too.
To the negative nelly the guys know the property owner and if there is a problem the land owner/tractor owner know who send the bill to for a new tractor.
But, I digress...Thanks for sharing your shoots over the past months.

I debated including the tractor shot, I figured someone would say something about it. I'll own it, I was the one shooting.
Maybe I shouldn't have taken the shot? I was and am very confident that the tractor was in no danger when I took the shot. After shooting the 105 amax for a few years at as many ground hogs as I can find I was not too worried about a ricochet issue. The farmer knew I was out there, and if there was a problem I am sure he would have let me know, or at least he would stop letting me use his SxS or ATV to run all over his property.
Furthest hit this year was only 425M, but it had my climbing on top of his kids playhouse while somebody else handed me the rifle, unfortunately I wasn't able to get it on film.

Either way, I had fun, the farmer loves it. 30 down this summer on his property alone, 75 in the last 3 years on that property. (I only got out 2x last year)
I am at 45 for the year so far. I still see a few out here and there, might go out this weekend before they start going to bed for the season.

Almost time to start going after yotes and deer.

Also that twofer was supposed to be a simo with my brother and his 270, but I got settled in before he did. When they lined up I apologized then broke the shot, he was a split second behind me as you can see.

Great video, thanks for that. What was the longest and shortest shot? What was the equipment list? You're lucky to have all that opportunity, I don't have it so I'm jealous.

Longest hit on film was probably the one I had to shoot twice, with the trees to left and the tractor wayyyy out in the distance to the RIGHT. I think that was 360M or so. The shortest on film was probably around 50-60M. I got one at about 4M 2 years ago, was walking to pick up the dead and this guy popped up and froze almost at my feet, I've never wanted to be carrying a pistol more than at that moment.
The miss with the tractor to the left was a hair over 600M I got a bad range and dialed up for 675 or so. Would have missed for wind any ways I think.
Most of the shooting was with my 243AI, savage, Mcgowen barrel 22" 105 amax at 3000fps ish. Custom built carbon/fiberglass stock. There are a few in there with my buddies savage axis 223, shooting 50 gr vmax, 1 or 2 from a 270 with 135 SMK and a couple from my buddies 308, who knows which one, he's gone through a few.

I did the filming with my samsung phone through a home made spotting scope adapter.

Yeah finding them on the fence posts always made me happy.
I had a trail camera set up in front of a large hole, just cuz early in the season.
