Dirty Ole Sling

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I've got a Dirty Old Sling from a No.1 Mk 3 SMLE that I would like to preserve or ?Clean or make it so it will not fall apart. It's not all that bad of shape , brown & feels stiff Any ideas or just leave it and purchase a new one?? Ya, I know all the comments that are about to happen

not sure if there is leather on it, but if there is then massage mink oil into it.
i had some worn leather slings that i rubbed down with mink oil and they have a new life to them now.

Mink oil is a shoe product (protects & revives leather)

I use my own goop made from 50% bear fat and 50% beeswax on leather and as a general gun polish.

If it's leather, use saddle soap to clean it, let it dry. Then use Pecard's on it-lightly.
