Just got an e-mail from my PH that the guy who issues gun permits for the Congo, went on holidays until mid Oct. with out doing my permit. He has had the application for 4 months, but just never got around to it before his month long holiday from his obviously very busy and highly stressful Gov't job, there in the Congo.
Bottom line is...I now cannot use my own .375 for the hunt. Very distressing, gotta love Africa and all those hard working gov't officials who work so hard to smooth the way for us to come and drop 50K in their country.
Needless to say I'm a little pi$$y about the whole situation and just posted this to vent to a hopefully more sympathetic audience.
Non hunters and local hunters just don't get it when it comes to hunting far away and how important it is to use the rifle you trust and have worked long and hard to get the perfect load for it. Then some 2 bit lazy Gov't official doesn't get around to doing your paper work for 4 months.......AAARRRRRGGGGGG !!!!!
