The title says it all. I want to make a display box for a 1942 Mk 3. I have been looking at images of crates. I would like to paint the appropriate text on the display. Does anyone know what the appropriate markings should be?

You have 90% of the work already done for you. Find the spruce/pine/fir chest for a Long Branch CNo.7 .22 training rifle. My mind's eye sees your rifle nestled inside a salvaged box with a lid, hinges, handles, dividers, etc and a see-through side. Markings could be painted or engraved on the plexiglas. The WW2 No.15 sniper rifle chest had long and valiant service, with generations of Quarter Masters painting freehand or stencilling on examples of font and nomenclature.
