So the season for whitetails ended here today, and turned out to be a bit of a dissapointment.

Early in the season i got trailcam pic's of a really nice trophy buck, chased him on private land all season, then right at the begining of my last set of days off for the season found him poached in a field.

Some peoples children i guess!

Sorry to hear that. I just can't understand how some a-holes can just shoot an animal for the hell of it and leave it there.

I can almost understand some one poaching an animal in a moment of excitement or need to feed the family ( Understand not accept ) but just leaving it there is simply immoral . That buck deserved a better end.

Too bad you couldn't find out who did it so you could have a heart to heart discussion on manners and morality with them.

Sorry for your loss! But in all seriousness from what I've been hearing it's been a disappointing year for many hunters with numbers being low and predators at an all time high. I've got until Dec. 18th in the zone I hunt but I'm not holding out much hope of tagging anything as deer movement during daylight hours is minimal.

There are a lot of disrespectfull a-hats in the area. Last day of season, shooting well after legal time , driving fields with headlights and hunters with absolutely no respect for the landowners or fellow hunters. Some of these individuals should find a new hobby because they are a total nuisance in this sport.

There are at least four local guys that I know of as Alberta residents that often hunt wt deer hunt in Northern Saskatchewan. This year only one of them brought back a deer. The others were holding out for big bucks and came back empty handed.
