dissasembly of #1mk3

I would like to take my new #1mk3 PH sporter apart to give it a thorough clean.I removed the screw ahead of the clip but it would not come apart,I notice what looks like a brass pin thru the stock above and ahead of the trigger,does this need to be removed? Any tips or things to be careful of would be appreciated,thanks

NO! Stock removal

DO NOT TOUCH THE BRASS PIN!!!!! THIS IS THE STOCK REINFORCMENT TO KEEP IT FROM BREAKING DURING RECOIL.

To remove the forestock, remove the magazine, trigger guard screw in the butt socket, king screw and gently lift out the trigger guard. If the stock has a barrel band then the retaining screw must also be removed. Gently pull downward and forward on the stock in one motion...the stock should come free. If it doesn't, then it's being held in position by stock finish or grime. Take a small block of wood, rest it on the top walls of the stock and gently tap downwards on the block with a hammer. This will frree up the forestock.

The action should be exposed for inspection and cleaning. No need to remove the butt.
