DIY bear banger

Just curious if any one has made/reloader their own bear banger type shell?

I'd be inclined to call this one a bad idea. Every now and then a cracker shell explodes in the barrel, and is hard on the ears, but if you made you own, the same thing could wreck your gun, and could subsequently get hard on the fingers and face. Just order them from Margo Supplies.

Dad always carried a few empty 12 gauge shells, and some with half charges, no shot in them, maybe some thing to make a cloud
