DIY SKS cheek riser

I scope my SKS just for fun but couldn’t get a good cheek weld. Had an idea to make a cheek riser and made this one using two layers of pool noodle and self adhesive vet tape. Now have the perfect cheek weld so I thought I would leave some photos here in case anyone was interested

Yeah I keep most of milsurps untouched and original but I definitely bubba’d this SKS a bit. I did however keep everything %100 reversible
 
I personally don’t think it’s too silly. I don’t think it looks terrible only thing I didn’t like about the look is how thick it had to be
 
I started doing the same to my No.4 sporter and got half way through the vet wrap stage and said “No bloddy way could I do that to my LB.” I’m going to buy a Bradley or make one out of leather over the winter, or better yet make on out of wood like they did on the No.4 T.
 
A wood one would be nice! Thought about a leather one but didn’t want to dish out too much money on a cheek riser for an SKS. This one cost around $4 and works well.
 
There are a bunch of reasonably priced cheek risers on Amazon as well, if you haven already looked for them there check them out. I really didn’t like the look of the vet wrap, life’s to short to have something fugly strapped to a rifle as far as I’m concerned lol.
