Since I haven't been able to make it to any of Barney's clinics I decided to remove the scope from my M305 shorty and put on a railed forearm that I picked up for $20. I like to experiment (with cheap stuff) and I had an aluminum airsoft M1A forend available and a Tasco red dot sitting around at home so I thought ... "why not?". I was rather shocked how well the airsoft part fit the M305.
I was more curious to see if the setup would hold zero more than anything else.
This is what I got at 25 yards after zeroing... I think I need another couple of clicks to the right but the Tasco is about a 4MOA dot... rather large. Since it seems to hold zero, I may dig up a 2MOA red dot to try out. CQB anyone?
