Hey gang,

Inspired by Curtton's DIY clones I've decided to try on myself.

It's based on the Iraqi Tabuk DMR, a scoped, semi auto only AK variant based on the Yugo M70. Info about it here;

So far I've made a custom Kasat inspired scope mount (thanks by the way Kasat!), a custom stock made from baltic birch ply and custom birch hand guards. Scope is a posp 4x24t with the 400m rangefinder for 7.62x39.

Next is a proper Yugo M70 pistol grip, an FAL flash hider, shortened mag and it will be repainted with matte black arma coat. So far range sessions have been good, I think 2" groups will be the norm with handloads.

Thanks for looking

Thanks guys,

Carbonrod; the scope mount is welded to the stock ferrule at the back and then the roll pin that retains the lower handguard is replaced with a bolt that's threaded into the front, it may sound a little hokey but seems rock solid once everything is snugged up.

The scope sits a ways off to the left, I made the mount to allow the use of stripper clips with the scope mounted, also ejected shells miss the scope completely.

Curtton; I dunno about the cheek rest, I've got some birch veneer I may laminate using the stock as a form, then build the piece with sleeping mat foam and leather.
