I just recently got a Dlask mag extension for my 14" 870 Police Magnum. I was thinking of mounting a light on the tube using a mag extension clamp. Has anybody done this? Are the clamps robust enough? I haven't looked at the clamps closely enough.

There are many manufacturers out there - as to which one is 'good', i really don't know.. you'll have to wait for some of the guys who actually use 'em to tell you.

BTW - i have seen at canadian distributers that little screw in replacement back for mag lights as well - it's a pressure switch, and the cord attaches to your pump so that when you grip it the light goes on (or off if you don't touch the pressure switch). They don't interfere with the natural stroke of the pump. I think they're about 20 bucks. I always thought that made a lot of sense.

If you scroll down here - you'll see the ati version of the flashlight holder. Some manufactuers have an 'insert' too for smaller flashlights. It's about mid-way down. Any ati supplier in canada (marstar, lever arms, etc) aught to be able to get it.

I dont' know if the ati one is any 'good' - but i can't see why not. It's not like a scope that has to hold perfectly true or anything.
