Any opinions out there on Dlask's 1911's? I'm thinking that it would be good to support a Canadian company provided the product is comparable to what one has come to expect from the American makers. I'm trying to decide between the ProPlus and the TC models.

There is no comparison between a production gun and one of Dlask's. You are talking about buying a custom built 1911 here and Dlask guns are outstanding value. One of the boys at our club had a Dlask 1911 in 9MM made up and it is quite a shooter. Dlask did my Norinco A1 and it is supurb. You won't be disappointed.

We have a new entry level pistol, Standard 1911, priced at $1250.00. The difference between this and the Pro is basically single sided exended safety, standard ramped/bushing barrel, and the rubber Hogue grips. Hardwood grips, bull barrels are standard on the Pro models. Still the same internals, match barrels, etc. as the Pro.

are there any parts in the dlask 1911 pistol that is from China??? just trying to dispell something i heard at the range...

thx

There are ABSOLUTLY no Chinese parts in our pistols! You're probably thinking of Kimber. The parts are sourced from the states or from Europe. All parts with the exception of the Ed Brown parts and the frames are machinings and not castings. The slides are forgings. The hammer, front sight, and sear are EDM'ed here, the trigger and disconector is made in the shop. Soon we'll be making our own beavertails and ambi safeties so we won't have to be reliant on the US market for anything inc. AR parts.

What calibers will the entry level pistol be offered in? ANything other than .45?

Thanx

The new model is offered in pretty much any caliber. The castings are excellent, and I ususally can't stand castings. They are all CNC'd and surface ground.

My experience with Dlask has not been positive. I once send them my Colt 1911 for a trigger job and what I got back was worse than the original. Some lousy trigger! I had to send the gun to Armco to get it fixed afterwards. Needless to say have never dealt with them again.
