Dlask AR barrels...hit or miss?

My RRA upper has a 16" Dlask "heavy barrel", unchromed and a 1-9" twist. It is very accurate...more accurate than the 20" OEM barrel that it replaced.
 
Hit or miss is right. Some are great and some are pure crap. I know people who have had to return them (gas port not there, problems with inside diameter) and I know poeple who love them.

You pay your money and take your chances.
 
I wouldn't buy another. If I wanted a short barrel, the only slightly less common feature they offer, I would either go with a RRA "pistol" barrel, or even have a longer barrel cut down by a qualified gunsmith, before buying another Dlask product.
 
Yep. I got lucky. ;)

(Edited to add....) Why do I have this long-forgotten feeling that "getting lucky" was more than just getting an accurate barrel...:rolleyes: )

The 16" barrel I have appears to be a HB ... Joe told me it was made by Montana Rifleman and was chambered and finished in his shop.

Had to send my M4 profile back twice.
First one was in the white and the bore was over-sized. This was witnessed by Reaper and Pops.

Second barrel was finished very nicely but was still oversized (key-holed at 50 m with all grains of ammo) Sent it back and the third one is good with 55 gr - 69 gr.

They didn't make the barrels, but their source s**t the bed. They replaced both with no problems.
 
Have one of their 14.5" 1/9 twist, its accurate.

When dealing with dlask worrying about workmanship is one thing, dealing with them is a whole other hassle, one of the poorest run businesses I have ever dealt with.

f-up after f-up in my case.

Not worth the hassle unless you can deal in person IMHO.
