Hello,

Your thought guys about DLASK ARMS.

Pros and Cons.

Should I buy one or choose an RRA, LMT, COLT, DPMS, BUSHMASTER ....

Purpose, Just to have one.

The price for DLASK is $2000.00.

What you will do.

$2000 will get you a NICE LMT which is pretty much Milspec. $2K might not get you a what you want in colt unless you want a older sporter or something.

many opinions about DLASK vs "all the others" on various threads in the forums.

my range/store just got some DLASK's in for sale and they look good up close, but no range reports yet.

My latest purchase was an LMT for less than $2k, but not too fancy.

What configuration is your $2k getting you?

When you go to the web site:

www.dlaskarms.com

DAR-701 Rifles
DAR701-1 New DAR-701-1 (1-9 twist,11.5'' or 14.5'' bbl) $2,000.00
DAR701-T DAR-701 Target ( 1-8 twist ,22'',24'' or 26'' bbl) $2,200.00
DAR701-4 New DAR-701-4 (M4) Standard (14.5''bbl with Det Carry Handle) $1,725.00

If you are going to spend that kind of money, then go with LMT. Dlask QC is almost non-existent. Although they can produce some great stuff, it might not be worth the risk. That said, I have a Dlask 14.5" barrel in the franken-gun and it gets me ~3 MOA with AE 55gn. ammo.

I paid the ~$2000 for a Dlask AR once, to get the otherwise difficult to find 14.5" barrel. I wish I had gone with a product from a different manufacturer. You can get alot more, and better consistency, from the big American AR makers, for that money. The Dlask lower seemed pretty good ... the upper had way more flaws than I could accept for that kind of money, and their handling of my complaints left much to be desired.

I'd check out Questar and go with an LMT. Questar offers service that is second to none. I can't say enough good things about the customer service.

first time AR buyer

First time poster, long time lurker here too:)

I bought a DAR 701 from Joe for my first AR for $1560. Came with a 16" heavy barrel and detachable carry handle on a flat top , shorty, fatty hand guard. I also baught an Eagle Arms with a bushmaster upper with a 14.5 barrel. Same gutts as the Dlask.

I researched heavy on the AR thing and found its like buying a car, you spend alot of money on it so yours is the best. Even though its the same car everyone else is driving.

Dlask is local, has great service, and if there is a complaint I'm sure he'd fix it

I'm no professional on the topic but I'm happy with mine so far.

How your DAR 701 shoots?

it groups everything I put through it into the same POI and under 3.5 inches. I havnt shot it with a scope yet but I have got 1 " groups with a few different hand loads.

shoots better than I can.

Had a few bang bang jams when I first shot it but that was because of the mag I used(mag cut to 5 that came with it).

Anyone buy a Dlask AR recently? Is the QA better now? I have a friend who lives near Dlask and would like to buy Canadian made if the QC is there. My gut told me to tell him buy Colt, LMT, or Stag but wanted to see if things had changed ref. the QC of their AR's.

A friend of mine owns one. I've been with him at the range and witnessed him shoot one hole groups at 100 yds. At 300 he shot one group that was under 1.5 inches. Go for a heavy bull barrel 20 - 22 inches with an 8 twist so you can shoot the heavier longer bullets.

What should I tell him guys? I'm not trying to slam Dlask I know he goes great work but is the hit and miss with the AR' s still true?

thanks
