I notice the thread about possible problems with Dlask short shottie barrells has poofed.

Let me re-iterate then:

The new Dlask short shottie barrels seem to be pre-disposed to rust. Oil them accordingly.

Could a mod clarify with me why my thread was removed, seeing as I didnt post anything improper (that i know of) and it did have information that i wished to use and retain. Thank you

I too would like to know why the thread was nuked. Recognizing and discussing legitimate product concerns is pretty much why this forum exists, so nuking a thread because the manufacturer might get offended doesn't make a lot of sense.

If the thread was removed for another legitimate reason then fine.

Might have been because the thread forked into two: 1) discussing the barrels, and 2) discussing DLASK and their business practices ? Hijacked threads have gone poof in the past so it would not be the first time.

Anyways, I too am a bit surprised by how easy it is to cause minor scratches in the finish of the DLASK barrels but I have had no issues with rust. That said, I live in Alberta and we have negative 50% humidity here *LOL*. I will be oiling it up just in case though, especially when I go into the mountains. Then again, I do this regardless of the brand of barrel but given the above warnings, it is prudent to ensure that such steps are taken with the DLASK barrels just in case (or at least until I have the barrel reblued or parked... :D).

Still very happy with the product though, some of the best money I have spent on a shotgun in a long time (the 12.5in barrel competes with my Fabarms for best money spent :D).

I had the thread removed.

It became a slagfest and that will not be tolerated.

There's your answer and that is the end of it!

RePete.

Well that's fine RePete, but I'd rather see it locked than dissappeared. It's no secret that people make ememies on these forums and I for one would like to see what they have said about me before the thread evaporates.

There's a reason most DLASK threads degenerate into a slagfest. Developping some customer service to go along with their otherwise fine products might aleviate that somewhat.

Did anyone nail down which slugs to use in the 12.5"-ers without tumbling?

Sure would be nice if people would STFU when they want to dis people. I was hoping for some solutions to my problems. Oh well, I guess my memory will have to improve and remember what people recommended.

Please let us know if you get better results using some different brands of slugs.... I havent tried any Brennekes or the like in mine yet but I will post results if/when I have them.

i gave a box of winchester low recoil 00buck to a buddy today and he said that, that ammo shot the best group of the 00 buck he had used so far in the dlask barrle.
no slugs so far.

I have seen an 870 with the 12.5 it has a great LCF... having said that it would seem that the performance is .. well ... the ####s.

Captain Hanser wont be purchasing a rusty, finish flaking, tumbler.

If you possess the Dlask 12.5", I would highly suggest the Federal Low Velocity "OO" 8 pellet load, at 7 yards it looked like a slug had been fired out of the gun, nominal recoil with quick recovery, patterns are tight and quite usable out to about 20-25 yards.

I got my 14" with a Rem-choke. The patterns seem a bit bigger (30%?) than what my 26" barrel throws at 20m, but that was with the provided Imp-cyl. I'll try out my mod, full and turkey and report back.
