Just thought I'd drop a post to help you guys save your money. Whatever Dlask may have been at one point in time, that time has clearly passed us by.

He's shutting down the business, and I've heard reports here that he's not fielding any complaints or honouring any warranty on his products, but when a sale came under my nose I just couldn't resist. I should have though.

He has a set of double diamond 1911 government stocks in Ebony that were his. Dlask stocks. And while they fit no problem, the checkering is uneven in depth...these are seconds, I'm certain.

I ordered a Wilson Combat extended safety for an 870...it's WC so it's fine.
I ordered a Dlask mag tube follower for an 870. Orange anodized...I now understand what S&J meant when Ryan said that some manufacturers are using soft aluminum which will wear excessively and retain embedded dirt. I most likely won't even install it. Junk.

Here's the kicker. The thing that really pisses me off. Revel in my disdain. I ordered one of his famous (infamous) mag caps for an 870. He had goofy faces, slogans etc., on a two piece unit and I'm not aware of anyone else making these. Not only is it Dlask, it screams "Dlask". The one I ordered (Happy Face) is clearly a second as half the "face" is scrubbed by some sort of finishing cutter...it's garbage. And while it was "on sale" it was still plenty expensive and was never marked as a second, or flawed piece.

He's just shipping floor scrapings and apprentice f-ups that he wouldn't have dared sell until now. It just wouldn't have been tolerated in the competitive market where he made his name. Seemingly, he's just relying on that name to off load back shelved stuff. Don't be tempted guys. I was. I'm stung. It's a shame, but it could have been a gun I bought, who knows what he's pushing out in that regard. There's a thread somewhere around here about barrels of his not fitting receivers (Barrel OD is oversized).

Anyhow, thought I'd share.
@Dlask, I'm not interested in a rebate, or anything of the sort. You shouldn't have shipped it. You know that, and you did anyhow. That's on you. Enjoy my money.

Guess I can't get another 25 round mag for my Tuf22 but the one I have doesn't work worth 5hit anyway.

I JB Weld 1/2" nuts onto my 25 round BC Steellips and my 110 round GSG drum so they will not seat in a 10/22 mag well and then they are legal. F*ck the RCMP E Lab ruling.

Your lucky you even received anything.......

There was fellow who ordered a barrel off of them a few months back and hasn't heard a thing back, had to do a CC charge back

I wouldn't order a damn thing off of them at this point

Like you say, shipping seconds and table scraps

This is sad, Dlask was top notch for many years and had amazing products

Sorry you went thru this OP

lol the other day someone was saying they "don't believe they are closing down" and "wanted to see proof where they said it".

Their action speaks louder than words. I'm sorry for your experience and it's a damn shame that this is how Dlask ends.
Retired. Every one of us eventually will, one way or another. He has built many fine guns for me over the years. Top notch every time.

This is sad to read. I have dealt with Joe on numerous projects, an AR-15 Mini Moose (meh) and one of his higher end 1911s (solid). I had numerous run ins with his staff being rude and snappy, not to mention that whole Ice Arms fiasco, if anyone remembers that.

I have heard a lot of troubling things over the last year or so, which sucks because I always held Joe in high regard.

The arms industry in Canada is vaporizing as we know it.

Sad, but very true.

that reminds me, I have a 10/22 receiver that's completely unusable I need to have destroyed from them.
Just curious what's wrong with it?

On a side note, over the last few months I've spent over $2600 there building a few 10/22's. They forgot to include a muzzle brake that was supposed to come with the rifle and ended up sending me it. Only other issues was I ordered a blued thread protector and got stainless. I didn't bother to try and rectify it for the $20 since I've heard of soo many issues. Glad I've had a mostly positive experience.

I never did get a magazine with my custom built TUF22 that they put together years back. I got tired of asking and never bothered to buy one - why would I when they already owed me one?

The nuts sound like a good idea, though.

They are definitely retiring. Will most likely be shut down by march 2026. I was there last week picking up some parts. Everything I picked up was all good with no imperfections. I did pick up in person so I did get to look at things before buying them. Probably the best option if you want to buy stuff off them now. Bring cash and you’ll get a better deal. I saved 12% plus
