Dlask extended mag release

I had one. sold it after a month.
i much prefer the ambi one. Can use my right hand to release the mag. Think Corwin arms sell them.
The novelty of AK mag changes fades fast.
Cheers

This.

The ambi-mag release from Corwin-Arms is the way to go. I can push on the release with my trigger finger without taking my hand off the grip. Very fluid and natural.

No if only there was an external bolt release available for the VZ.58 that functioned reliably for more than 1-2 catches. :(

I have one of the old NEIT ones (before they became NEA), and it's been rock solid and reliable. They show up on the EE now and then.

I'm always curious why nobody talks much about the hammer extensions thrown onto the plane jane stock mag release.
Has anyone tried case hardening a bolt release?

That would be a bad idea. The pin that holds the bolt back is a fairly narrow diameter. If you hardened it, it would become brittle and shear off after a very short time.

Case Hardening and Hardened steel are two different things.

But getting case hardening "right" on a small diameter object like the bolt release is going to be tricky without hardening the whole thing.
I suspect that that's why there was a era of broken bolt releases.
