Not quite the same as the Levang, but I like just the same.

This compensator is designed to direct the gas on a forward direction, away from the shooter. Its architecture has been improved from the classic layout of the linear compensator. As a result, the six side holes are no longer parallel with the bullet hole, but at a slight angle for a swirl effect. Also, the front end of the compensator is optimized to increase the effect of bullet stabilizing. The outside diameter is .920", so it will blend in with the 10/22 bull barrels. At the rear there are 2 flats for wrench for easy installation. Bullet hole is dimensioned for 22 caliber.Threaded 1/2"-28tpi. CNC-machined out of steel, blued finish.

The Levangs were modified by Dlask, the XB5 is their own design and supposedly has some improvements over the Levang

compensators.. please tell me, is it just for the looks or does it really serve some kind of purpose ? it does look cool.

Theoretically it reduces the pressure behind the bullet as it leaves the muzzle which may help accuracy / reduce recoil / direct sound away / reduce dust signature... so realistically for a .22 it basically makes it look cool. Shot a Dlask barrel with and without it, really have to squint just right to see a difference.

I got mine a few weeks back - nice piece. Only gone to the range once so far, so no time to compare with/without.

Had the levang on a couple builds. Was maybe the slightest bit quieter but in all honesty I bought them just for looks. Ive got the xb5 on my dar .22 also, same thing.
