I finally took a look at the Dlask website and was quite impressed with their offerings, one rifle in particular was their dar701-4 which is the 14 " barrel M4 configeration. I keep hearing small snippets about this company on here and am surprised we don't here more about a Canadian company that makes it's own guns. I would like to hear about peoples experiences with this company, products etc. Anyone have this rifle or other guns from this company?

I bought an M4 profiled 14.5" upper from Dlask but the barrel profiling was wrong.

maybe a newb question....but whats barrel profiling?

shape/thickness

Hollywood' : ArmaLite Early AR-15 ultra-lightweight turned-down profile barrel, 1:14 twist
A1: Government-specified barrel profile increased to between 0.675 and 0.575 inches "lightweight" or "pencil" profile.
A2: Thin barrel under handguards, barrel in front of handguards is thickened to 0.715 inches. "Government Profile" or "gov't profile"
HBAR: A barrel that is thicker than government-profile
M4 (14.5" or 16"): section reduced to 0.575 inches to mount M203 grenade launcher
M4A1 HBAR: 14.5" M4 barrel thickened under handguard for automatic fire
Super Heavy: Special target / match barrel

The one thing I noticed after handling a Dlask rifle is that Joe tends to build with very tight tolerances. I found that after about 75 rounds the gun would jam and needed quick clean of the internal parts. You really have to oil the crap out of Dlask rifles for the first 2000 rounds until the gun loosens up a bit.
On a second note, I purchased a muzzle break for an MR223 recently and it was not threaded to fit properly but they are always good in helping to remedy a problem. I believe in making efforts to support our Canadian gunmakers but with any new company, they need to go through minor growing pains. For the same money there are proven rifles out there, but they all had to start out somewhere.

They are not a site sponser on here, that is a little surprising. Thanks for all the info, for $1500 they have a rifle just how I want it. I know wolverine has the bushmaster for $250 more but the stack is fixed....hard to choose!

I have a Dlask M4, and would recommend this company to anyone. The rifle had a hiccup when I bought it used, so I called the company. His first words were "Send it to me." The customer service is the best that I have seen, his turn around time was very fast (two weeks), and he produces a quality product. The maple leaf on the side is a very nice bonus as well.

Dlask was a business member for one year when they started selling the very short shotguns about 2 or 3 years ago. At one point, there were some issues with the registration and classification of those shotguns, and members at CGN were a bit annoyed ( in a typical CGN fashion). They disappeared and have never heard from them again.

I bought a lower, a 20" HBAR, and an aluminium handguard at various times, no problems with them and the price was decent.
They did sell a bunch of AR barrels with wrong twist, but have been pretty good to refund when they screw up.
We don't have many options these days for <16" barrels....Nork M4 or Dlask.

That is too bad. A business like this would be an asset to have on here. Thanks for the info!

They sold a limited number of CGN lowers awhile back.

Their anodizing was too thick in some areas and needed work in 6 I saw to get the LPK's to fit.

Other than that, the lower where GTG.
