Looking to buy one but need some info first...

Does anyone have one of these?
How accurate is it out to 200 yards?
Does it lose alot of velocity being only 8.5 inchs?
and what would be the best rate of twist for 100-200 yard fox shooting with 50-55 grain hornady heads (1:8 or 1:9)?

Thanks..

BR.

Since ALL AR 15s are RESTRICTED here in Canuckistan, you won't LEGALLY be shooting no foxes with an AR 15, no matter what the barrel length.

I've had a Dlask built mini moose,
I've built three 7" AR micro shorties,
and my current favorite AR is a 10.5" LMT.

These type of ultra short ARs in 5.565 are quite handy, but very VERY LOUD!!!!

My nephew now has the Mini Moose, and he seems to like it ...
but then he also likes LOUD music too.

Accuracy? with some kind of optical sight, accuracy should be adequate.

Velocity ... at least 100 fps less than a 16" barrel.

Twist??? you'd have to experiment to find that out yourself ...
some tight twist barrels shoot the 55 gr bullets well, some don't.

More info...

I'm building this gun with the intension of bringing it to Ireland.

AR's are a handy lamping rifle in ireland for foxing at night.
With the short barrel and 4-8 inches for the silencer, the whole rifle remains quite tidy for getting in and out of vehicles quickly when lamping.

And the sound wont be a problem as silencers are legal there too. Infact alot of landowners require you to use them if hunting at night in ireland.

I'm leaning toward the 1:9 for the lighter 50-55 grain bullets still, but like i said above am wondering about potential accuracy.
At this range 100fps wont make a huge difference anyway so thats ok. thanks.

just the accuracy to be figured out now. 200 yard grouping???

Thanks again.

Putting a silencer on an AR 15 barrel in 5.56 NATO is NOT the optimal solution.

If you like the sound of silence,
you should be looking at .300 Whisper for your AR build,
or else slow HEAVY bullets out of a 7.62X39 ...
and that doesn't restrict you to an AR 15 ....
could even be an SKS.

Do a Google on .300 Whisper ...
a WAY BETTER idea.

PS: I bought two .300 Whisper AR 15 SS 16" barrels from OLY, sold both here on the EE, and I would really like to get one of those .300 Whisper barrels back

Totally Cool but too short. I've been wanting a 7 or 8 inch Ar, but the more i look into it 10.5 is the way to go its 100 percent stable no messing around.
