Hello All,

Was wondering if there are any owners of such model, and if so what can be expected for grouping and accuracy with lets say off the shelf 00buck 2 3/4?

Also are there any positives and or negatives you can provide.?

PLEASE keep comments related to the simplicity of my question :) I am set on an 8.5 inch barrel and do not want to go with the dominion arms model. Just looking for information from actual DLASK rem 870 8.5 inch model owners

Cheers

Not so much about grouping, but more about point of aim. The 8 1/2 guns (dlask included) can be all over the place regarding point of aim. Most commonly they tend to hit high (sometimes very high). The shorter the barrel the higher the sight needs to be, that is why dlask has that front rib that is high and thick (thicker than it needs to be). The 8 1/2 guns make a nice toy and are a lot of fun (I have a custom made wingmaster with a dlask 8 1/2 barrel) but I find the 12 1/2 or the 14 (my personal favorite) are better for anything serious

I haven't tried mine with buckshot but I can easy shoot thrown clay pigeons with #5 shot and have tested it out to 15 yards on stationary targets again with birdshot I can easily break clays and bust soda cans out to 15 yards.

I keep meaning to do some accuracy testing but a new baby and house full of kids keeps me pretty near to home. lol

I second what dogzilla said, the Dlask 8.5" is a cool range toy, but not very useful if you actually want to hit your target. I bought mine lightly used, here on the EE, fired it a few times, and sold it for a profit. Mine came with a Knox recoil reduction stock that worked very well. The older style railed Dlask forend on mine was awful.

you might want to google short shotgun patterns as there is a video of a fellow in the states shooting buckshot out of various shotguns down to a sawed off class three stoeger double barrel 8inch gun .it will open your eyes to what these guns are capable of .

I've watched that video I think.

He did a pretty good job showing what even a short shotgun can do
